JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Center for Nanotechnology Education and Utilization (https://www.cneu.psu.edu/) (CNEU) at the Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Education Program Coordinator (Intermediate Support). The successful candidate will mentor students in the Microelectronics and Nanomanufacturing Certificate Program hosted by CNEU.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide daily (Monday through Friday) Zoom office hours and student support pertaining to topics covered in lecture.

  • Assist and coach students with writing resumes and cover letters.

  • Leverage industry connections and assist students on a case-by-case basis with employment opportunities.

  • Conduct three progress interviews with each student throughout the program to track their progress, learning, and employment search.

  • Track all program participants following program completion to gain insight into where they have landed in the job market.

  • Communicate with previous program participants who are working in the industry to learn which of the skills they acquired in the program were most beneficial in translating into their career path.

  • Assist and mentor community college partners with recruiting students for the program.

  • Assist community college partners with adaptation and implementation of program curriculum into their own programs.

  • Assist university partners with adaptation of CNEU labs by creating lab templates.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required.

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, material science, or physics, with emphasis on semiconductor processing, nanotechnology, or solid state and microelectronics, is preferred.

  • Experience working with human resources and professional development is desired.

  • Undergraduate student teaching and mentoring experience is desired, but not required.

Additional Information:

This is a limited-term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
