JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Mathematics in the Eberly College of Science has vacancies available for Part-Time Undergraduate Research Assistants. The selected candidates will work in interdisciplinary research involving the development of mathematical models in one of the following areas, which should be specified in the application: 1) dilemmas in game theory, in which individual and total (social) benefits differ, such as Prisoner's Dilemma, Public Goods, voting or other preference models; 2) kinetics of viral replication, in relation to the innate immune system. Students will explore modeling, simulations, and mathematical analysis. Strong skills in mathematics and coding (Python, MATLAB, other) will be given additional preference. The second area may also include modeling cell growth and interactions in tissues, and also some laboratory work in cell biology.
