JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scholar with a strong background in micro- and nanofabrication, microfluidics, surface chemistry, and surface and optical characterizations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading cutting-edge research projects focused on the development and application of advanced micro- and nanofabrication techniques. Responsibilities:

Designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

In addition to research activities, the candidate will also be expected to contribute to proposal writing, including grant applications.

Play a significant role in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.Qualifications:

Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering is required by hire date.

Demonstrated expertise in micro- and nanofabrication, surface chemistry, and optical characterization techniques.

Experience in proposal writing and student mentoring is highly desirable.

Excellent communication skills, a strong publication record, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative research environment.

Additional Information: This is a term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of renewal. Interested candidates should submit a CV, cover letter, and contact information for two references.
