JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Active Biomaterials Laboratory in the Biomedical Engineering Department is seeking to hire a postdoctoral scholar to conduct independent research under the direction of Dr. Igor Aronson. Working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team, the postdoctoral candidate will conduct extensive research on computational characterization of self-organization of active matter with signaling and decision-making. Candidates should have extensive computational/analytical skills including numerical solutions of partial differential equations, discrete particles simulations, high-performance computing, along with experience using software packages: CUDA, MATLAB, Mathematica, Linux.

Education and Experience: The position requires a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics or related discipline by the time of appointment. This is a term appointment funded for one year with a possibility of renewal depending on the performance of the candidate and availability of funds. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
