JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Campus Retail Dining is searching for a Full Time Storeroom Assistant to join their team. Duties include:
Assist the Storeroom Worker and receive, check and store incoming food and supplies; mark containers with date received; report discrepancies to Storeroom Worker or Supervisor such as short order
Store food and supplies in proper location, so that oldest, open cases or broken lots are used first; unlock refrigerators
Deliver food and supplies to various preparation areas, such as cafeteria, Lion’s Den and catering; issue cleaning supplies; prepare daily operation sheets, as required
Receive bakery order on delivery, separate and move to designated areas. Mop, hose and clean various basement areas, storerooms, walk-in refrigerators, receiving areas, garbage cans, ice chest, etc.; remove snow and ice from receiving areas
Maintain work areas and trash areas in a clean and orderly condition by wiping light switches, etc., dusting shelves, window sills, etc., washing walls, windows, etc., picking up paper, trash, etc.; replace light bulbs
Collect and remove trash, garbage, etc., to designated locations, as required; operate incinerators and disposals, as required
Report needed maintenance or repair work to Supervisor
Perform dish room duties as assigned; set up and operate dishwashing machine; maintain general sanitation of machine and dish room area during operations
Sort and store clean dishes
Report dishwashing malfunctions to Supervisor
Assist in taking weekly inventories
Occasionally, drive vehicle to designated areas on or off campus to pick up and deliver items
Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. Driver`s license required.2 to 3 months of effective experience.
Work Schedule: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Days Off: Saturday, Sunday

This position is part of the bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 8 and has a starting hourly wage of $17.28. After six (6) full pay periods (bi-weekly) from the date of hire, the rate increases to $19.24 per hour.
