The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks highly qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position at all ranks. All areas of space systems, space science, space medicine, space robotics, and space situational awareness are of primary interest. Exceptional candidates in other areas relevant to Aerospace Engineering that will complement the department\'s current strengths are also welcome to apply.

The Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has top-ranked graduate and undergraduate programs, 33 faculty (tenure-track, tenured, and specialized), over 750 undergraduates and 300 graduate students. The department has several state-of-the-art facilities to support space research, including the Laboratory for Advanced Space Systems at Illinois and the Composites and Additive Manufacturing Laboratory. Our faculty and students are affiliated with and have access to world-class experimental and computational facilities located in on-campus multidisciplinary research (fundamental and translational) centers and laboratories, including: Applied Research Institute , Advanced Materials Testing and Evaluation Laboratory , Aerodynamics Research Laboratory , the Coordinated Science Laboratory , the Center for Hypersonics and Entry Systems Studies , Frederick Seitz Materials Research Laboratory , Holonyak Micro & Nanotechnology Lab , the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology , and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications .

A doctoral degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field is required at the start date, and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The budgeted salary range for the position is \$106,000 to \$122,000 at the Assistant Professor level, \$122,000 to \$140,000 at the Associate Professor level, and \$140,000 to \$170,000 at the Full Professor level, for a 9-month service basis.
