Job Summary
The Manager of Hospitality Accounting is an integral part of the overall day-to-day financial and accounting oversight for 3rd party owned hotels operated by Vail Resorts via Hotel Management Agreements. The position reports to the Senior Manager of 3rd Party Financial Shared Services and works in concert with each hotel operational team and centralized accounting/finance to ensure a timely and accurate close of 3rd party books, while providing financial insight to the Senior Manager and Director of Hospitality Finance. This job requires the ability to meet deadlines, keen attention to detail, act as an agent of change for process improvements, enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude, and a strong work ethic.

Outlet: The Hythe, Vail
The budgeted range starts at $74,100 - $96,465 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience
Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time, Year Round
Other Specifics: Onsite 5 days per week
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly accounting close process working with stakeholders across the organization
Communicate with hospitality field operators on a regular basis to gather information and provide insight on financial results and market trends
Month-end closing journal entries
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Manage two employees who support centralized billing and revenue audit
Assist with producing monthly financial packages for 3rd party hotel owners
Monthly Sales Tax Filings
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization
Liaison with 3rd party owners and Vail Resort’s shared service center relating to ad hoc requests and problem resolution
Ability and willingness to gain working knowledge of multiple hotel PMS systems to support billing and audit functions
Managed Hotel Properties this position supports: 90% The Hythe at Vail, 10% The Gravity Haus at Breckenridge
Other daily duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting/finance knowledge, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, systems skills and a proven understanding of the month end close cycle
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 3 to 5 years accounting experience
Professional accreditations strongly preferred (CPA, CMA or Master’s), but not required
PeopleSoft experience - preferred
Strong understanding of varying types of Balance Sheet reconciliations
Previous exposure to inter-company accounting and cash management
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Marriott experience preferred
Previous experience using Hotel Property Management systems (Lightspeed preferred)
The expected Total Compensation for this role is $74,100 - $96,465 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
