Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Vallejo, California

Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Assistant role based in Vallejo, California. This role is within the manufacturing industry and provides an opportunity for a contract to hire employment. As an Accounting Assistant, your main focus will be on supporting the Accounts Payable department, performing various clerical duties, and maintaining comprehensive records.

Responsibilities:

• Handle Accounts Payable Invoice entry with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring timely processing

• Provide comprehensive support to the Accounts Payable department, including assisting with invoice reconciliation and vendor communications

• Perform varied routine clerical duties including typing, filing, and simple form completion

• Operate standard office equipment such as copiers, scanners, phone and voicemail systems, and personal computers

• Serve as the office receptionist, greeting visitors and applicants professionally

• Direct incoming calls to appropriate individuals and prepare messages

• Sort incoming mail and deliver to the appropriate department or individual, also handle outgoing mail processing

• Maintain filing systems either manually or electronically

• Manage calendars and schedule appointments as necessary

• Copy, sort, and file records related to office activities, business transactions, and other matters

• Prepare letters, memos, forms, and reports according to written or verbal instructions.

Requirements

• Holds a minimum of one year of experience in an Accounting Assistant role or similar

• Demonstrated experience in administrative assistance

• Possesses skills in receptionist duties including answering inbound calls efficiently

• Capable of coding invoices accurately

• Proven ability in high-volume data entry

• Experienced in entering and processing vendor invoices

• Familiar with administrative software and accounting systems

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
