Manufacturing Engineer – Tire & Wheel

We are seeking a Level 1 or Level 2 Manufacturing Engineer with 7-10 years of relevant experience in Tire and Wheel assembly. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both manual and automated assembly systems, along with experience in product launch, process design, equipment acquisition, and budget management. This position focuses on advanced manufacturing processes, including module assembly and the integration of tooling and equipment into production lines.

What you will do:

  • Tire and Wheel Assembly: Expertise in tire and wheel assembly (not to be confused with tire or wheel manufacturing) is a primary focus. Extensive hands-on experience is essential, including both manual and automated assembly processes.

  • Assembly Systems and Technologies: Develop and maintain a working knowledge of automated/tooled trailers, balancing equipment, mount & inflate equipment, uniformity systems, and robotic palletizing.

  • Product/Program Launch: Play a critical role in launching new products and programs, overseeing the transition from design to production.

  • Equipment Specification & RFQ Development: Lead the development of equipment specifications and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to ensure accurate acquisition of tooling and equipment.

  • Tooling Equipment Acquisition: Oversee tooling and equipment acquisition processes, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure proper integration into the production line.

  • Plant Transition: Manage the transition of purchased equipment to the plant, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical and control systems.

  • Budget Management: Effectively manage budgets related to tooling and equipment acquisition, ensuring cost-effective and timely purchasing.

  • Process Design & Module Assembly: Design and optimize manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on module assembly , incorporating both manual and automated part assembly.

  • PFMEA Creation & Documentation: Develop and document process flow, ensuring all necessary risk assessments and PFMEAs are in place.

  • Customer Interaction: Confidently present process designs and equipment specifications to customers in both virtual and in-person settings.

What you will need:

  • 7-10 years of experience in Tire and Wheel Assembly, with a strong understanding of both manual and automated assembly systems.

  • Extensive experience in module assembly is required, as well as automated and manual part assembly.

  • Experience in product and/or program launches, including equipment specification development (RFQs).

  • Proven background in process design, with a focus on integrating module assembly and PFMEA documentation.

  • Hands-on experience in transitioning equipment and tooling into plant environments, including both mechanical and control systems.

  • Strong budget management experience, with an ability to manage costs effectively.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present in front of customers.

Preferred Experience:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience , ideally from companies such as OEMs , Module Suppliers, or Automobile Car Part Manufacturers.

  • Expertise in Tire and Wheel assembly is the most critical qualification, specifically in assembly and not the manufacturing of tires or wheels.

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
