Fluor New Graduate - Document & Data Management Specialist in Vancouver, British Columbia

Do you have a passion for data? Fluor Vancouver has an exciting opportunity for a New Grad Document & Data Management Specialist to join our team.

The Fluor Mining & Metals business line is a leader in the study, engineering, and execution of world-class mining projects globally. We work with multiple major, and many emerging, mining companies, generally with a copper or gold focus across the globe. Our team is leading the market with efficient designs and developing new ways of adopting the many innovative technologies emerging in our sector, redefining the project delivery model for the next wave of major world projects. We currently have projects in British Columbia, USA, Russia, Greece, Argentina and Chile.


This position will provide support for any role in Project Document & Data Management (PDDM) in an efficient manner while maintaining effective communication with Project Client, Engineering Subcontractors, internal taskforce members and field personnel.

You will learn basic work processes and work within a collaborative team while building upon the skills you have gained in your post-secondary education. A passion for data is required!

Principal Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Participate in project task force meetings

• Contribute to, promote, and ensure effective knowledge sharing behaviors in the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities

• Review work of others for accuracy and timeliness

• May report directly to task force engineering manager

• Responsible for compliance dictated by client regarding maintenance of related documentation

• Responsible for electronic receipt, recording, tracking reporting, and disposition of related documents in a timely manner

• Perform PDDM problem solving, duties, and analytic tasks, including custom report development

• Develop and document project workflows for client and third party interfaces

• Interface with groups inside and outside the organization

• May be required to give presentations to clients, projects, or management

• Analysis of execution reporting such as engineering, supplier data, squad check progress

• Provide instruction to execution to improve quality

• May be required to support Site PDDM

• May be required to interact with third party or Client interactions

• Could be asked to attend Supplier or Contract kickoff meetings

• Generate project standard reports

• Is part of the Lead Office project operations team

• Adhere to and support Fluor’s Operational System Requirements (OSR) and any office Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP)

• Contribute to, promote, and ensure effective knowledge sharing behaviors in the use of Fluor’s knowledge management portals and communities

• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines

• Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines

• Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff

• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards

• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies

• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job

• May need to travel to attend to business related matters

• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality

• Other duties as assigned
