Your Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Power team in our Vancouver office. As a technical leader, you will emphasize excellence, work closely with the technical design team and provide the necessary technical leadership required to deliver projects that satisfy client expectations.
Your Key Responsibilities
Design underground infrastructure for power utilities to meet the project requirements
Develop design solutions that meet all applicable codes, standards and regulations
Lead technical design discussions, internally and externally, to ensure scope objectives are met
Review and authenticate drawings for power distribution projects
Provide construction support
Support development of proposals, project cost estimates and project schedules
Manage external client relationships through effective and timely communication
Identify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate action
Provide coaching and guidance to project team members
Provide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultants
Travel and perform site visits as required
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Registered P.Eng with EGBC
Demonstrated technical proficiency in underground utility infrastructure design
Strong understanding of civil earthworks, grading and drainage designs and requirements
Effective Interpersonal Skills – Strong Written and Verbal skills are a must, to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers
Able to work effectively both independently under minimal supervision, and as a member of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work and complete work within given timelines
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Civil 3D
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Education and Experience
Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 8 years of experience designing underground utility infrastructure within North America
Experience working with a Power utility would be an asset

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):
Salary Range(s):
- Lower Mainland $103,500 - Lower Mainland $155,200 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
