HP Inc. Backend Software Development Engineer in Vancouver, Washington

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and grow the web presence and rich processing required to massively scale this business for HP. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented web developer to join the team and help grow our solution. Responsibilities

  • Works with the software engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the organization.

  • Plans, designs, and develops cloud-based applications.

  • Deploys and debugs initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Executes job using Test Driven Development (TDD) approach, and supports continuous integration and continuous deployment patterns.

  • Develops processes for enforcing cloud governance, architecture, operating procedures, monitoring, and system standards.

  • Responds to incidents, owns them and drives to completion, participates in root cause analysis.

  • Solves difficult and complex problems with a fresh perspective, demonstrating good judgment in selecting creative solutions.

Education & Experience Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's (undergraduate) or above degree in Computer Science or equivalent certification

  • 4-6yrs demonstrated familiarity with web development framework(s) and technologies (e.g., Ruby-on-Rails, REST, API design, JSON, etc.)

  • Back-end software development experience including building scalable backend APIs

  • Database skills, querying and design (e.g., MySQL)

  • Linux experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Troubleshooting experience

  • Passion to learn and grow

  • Contribute to the product and core backend systems by suggesting and executing improvements.

Recommended Experience with:

  • Pair-programming

  • GIT version control

  • Responsive UI development

  • Angular web application framework

  • JavaScript, React

  • Ability to analyze the performance and scalability of complex systems

  • Ability to work with fast changing requirements

  • Interest in system integration

Per the Washington state statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in that location , at the time of this posting, is $105,000 - $120,000. This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
