PeaceHealth Manager Security - Public Safety in Vancouver, Washington

PeaceHealth is seeking a Manager Security - Public Safety for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $43.16 – $64.75. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

Directs and manages all Security operations which may include some or all of the following depending on the community needs: chemical decontamination, workplace violence initiatives, fire/life-safety training, security and loss prevention programs and initiatives, training and heliport ambulance transfers.

Position Details:

  • Monitors and documents security activities, produces reports for a variety of committees as assigned, evaluates trends and recommends corrective actions as appropriate.

  • Ensures that all departmental activities are in compliance with all required regulatory agencies, authorities and codes.

  • Collaborates with the Director to determine the highest and best use of access control systems and digital recording systems and other security technology and patient safety priorities.

  • Takes part in hospital safety/security assessments and hazard and vulnerability assessments as applicable. Works closely with the Safety Manager to ensure a safe and secure hospital environment.

  • Manages and maintains parking program, security and safety for all parking lots, buildings and equipment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Business, or Education with additional training in Security or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years Security, Law Enforcement, Military Security, Loss Control or Emergency Management/Incident Management experience required.

  • Minimum of 3 years previous leadership experience required.

  • Experience in healthcare preferred.

  • Required Upon Hire: Drivers License & Basic Life Support

  • IAHSS - Basic preferred.

Skills

  • Must be familiar NIMS and National Response Plan and the Incident command structure for managing internal and external disasters. (Required)

  • Computer experience with Windows, MS Office and Access Database. (Required)

  • Must be able to interact with caregivers and the public and be an effective coach and mentor for departmental personnel. (Required)

  • Must be familiar with DNV Standards; NFPA 101, 99, and 10; National Fire Code; and ASPR Capabilities. (Required)

  • Will need to demonstrate effective problem-solving techniques and good verbal and written communication skills. (Required)

Working Conditions

Lifting

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Sedentary work.

Environmental Conditions

  • Predominantly operates in an office environment.

Mental/Visual

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
