Real Life Community Behavioral Health Mental Health Counselor in Vancouver, Washington

Real Life Community Behavioral Health (RLCBH) is an agency located in Vancouver, WA, nestled along the scenic Columbia River and working for this company means tons of access to things needed to best manage work life balance. Our company is built on the foundations of helping our employees achieve their personal goals. It's also a clinic designed by counselors and for counselors, to assist them in growing their practice competencies, receive invested training and ongoing support as they meet the needs of those they help. RLCBH desires to see lives changed - both in those whom we partner with in providing services and in the lives of those providing them. We do this by partnering with the clinician, through in depth training, investment, supervision and multiple career opportunities. We hope to be a place counselors want to call their "career home", knowing that longevity & competency mean better care for those we serve. We seek to be supportive - to clients and staff - in helping them become empowered with their lives - both in our client's personal lives and our counselors professional careers. Self care, work life balance and each person's reason "why" they do the work is just as important as the tasks at hand. All of this comes together, because of who we are, how we are and where we are.

Living in this area is one of the benefits! Many of the employees who have lived in this area for a while say things like "I've laughed my way through cheesy sayings like "Vancouver not BC, Washington, not DC" and cringed the first time we heard the city referred to as Vantucky." Our city went from being known as Portland's (Oregon) neighbor to becoming a desirable city in its own right. Quiet, green and full of beauty --- there's a lot to love about living and working in this area.

Our proximity to nature can be breathtaking and helpful for work life balance. Nestled nicely into the epic beauty of the Pacific Northwest, the region's natural beauty is a huge draw for folks moving to Vancouver, Washington. The Pacific NW of America is outlined by the dramatic Cascade Mountain Range and swaths of forest so pristine it'll make you question the injustice of having to be born elsewhere. Thankfully, many of us here at Real Life Community Behavioral Health appreciate the great outdoors in our own ways and many are keen on taking advantage of outdoor recreation to support a nice work life balance. From Vancouver, you can go to the beach, desert, forests and mountains all in less than a 2 hour drive. Long weekends of self care can include a grand adventure to take a weekend trip to one of the three breathtaking national parks in Washington State. Our area is all about being surrounded by epic nature, Vancouver is home to a whopping 90 parks and 20 natural areas. Including Esther Short Park, the oldest public square in the west. It's not just the inescapable nature that makes the city "green." Vancouver is recognized as an environmentally-friendly city that takes great pride in caring for the planet by keeping waste to a minimum. Respect for the environment is a big deal around here, made evident by strong recycling and composting habits.

Another big perk of living in Vancouver? The two biggest surrounding cities (Portland and Seattle) both rank as the least challenging cities in the country for allergy sufferers. We also have multiple hospitals in the area, making access to healthcare easy and personal wellness manageable. As of December 2022, Vancouver, Washington is considered the 58th safest city in the country. As someone that grew up in Vancouver, I've seen the city shift from sleepiness to energetic.

For many people, a huge perk of living in Vancouver boils down to the accessibility of having t
