The Site Safety and Health Technician:

  • Integrates with project team at the job site to monitor and oversee site HSE requirements during the execution of field work. Initially, work will include basic infrastructure development (electrical, water, sewer, buildings and facilities) and then will include site remediation, and finally demobilization.

  • Conduct worker exposure monitoring, (IH and or radiological), document measurements, and provide summary reports as required for site programs.

  • Interface, integrate and align with the SLDA Project Team including the Site Manager, Project Manager, Site Safety and Health Officer, and Health and Safety Manager.

  • Provide HSE advice and risk management to the site operations team.

  • Responsible for timely HSE incident reporting and investigation.

  • Serve as a visible and credible ambassador for BeyondZero, our culture of caring

  • To be an exemplary HSE professional demonstrating commitment to continued professional development.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • At least 3 years of field experience in HSE.

  • HSE experience in at least one of the following areas: construction, environmental remediation, operations and maintenance

  • Physically able to wear respiratory protection and chemical protective clothing while performing duties, which may include physically challenging terrain and environmental conditions.

  • Technologist level HSE certifications preferred (OHST, CHST).

  • USA citizenship is required, ability to pass security screening.

  • Able to influence and guide those over whom you do not have direct control

  • Demonstrates a passion and commitment to the HSE profession

  • Integrate as a key project team member

  • Facilitates engagement – creating an HSE culture where people are motivated to their best to help organization achieve its HSE goals.

  • Proven expertise in driving collaboration and behavioral programs and demonstrating improved safety performance on project sites.

  • Experience supporting incident investigation.

  • Highly competent with Microsoft Office Suite & other related software applications required.

  • Must demonstrate a stable job history and have been in your current organization for at least one year or more

  • Very competent communicator both written, verbal and in presentations

  • Candidates must already reside in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
