Eaton Corporation Validation Engineer in Vantaa, Finland

Eaton´s new campus for its critical power systems in Vantaa, Finland , integrates all current activities into a much larger site. Campus is completed by the end of 2023, and the 16,500 m² site will house research and development, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and service under one roof and will create up to 100 additional jobs.

As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of three-phase uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), Eaton’s expansion in this area is driven by strong business growth and the demand for systems that ensure business continuity. Situated in a prime location next to the Helsinki airport, the Vantaa facility will serve as Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions headquarters and a center of excellence for data centers.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you are going to perform the testing of UPS units and systems. You will contribute to developing the laboratory to function effectively while following correct procedures and health and safety guidelines.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Building of test setups, testing these systems and documenting the test results

  • Development of test processes and documentation

  • Participate in Test Automation development, writing test scripts and test procedures

  • Provide technical support to other functions

  • Overseeing safety and condition of laboratory equipment

  • Cooperation with Eaton test organizations around the world

  • Follow requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 2017 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories)

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in power electronics or electrical engineering

  • Preferably a minimum of 2 years of experience in electronic product electrical testing and or design

Skills:

  • Electrical system knowledge: UPS installations and safety

  • Interest in building an understanding of embedded firmware

  • Advantage: being familiar with common tools and methods to work in high power lab environment: oscilloscope, power analyzer and meters

  • Self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements
