Supervise employees for fisheries management surveys, the Statewide Angler Survey Program, and construction, maintenance, and operation of fish rearing ponds and fish ladders. Supervise equipment fabrication, repair, and maintenance, and building and facility maintenance. Oversee special fisheries projects such as stream improvement and chemical reclamation of fish populations. Manage public relations, interdivisional cooperation and assistance, and administrative duties and supervision of field crews in a fisheries management unit. Purchase goods and services for the unit, review and approve employee time, expenses, invoices, and procurement card logs. Conduct performance evaluations.

Required Education and Experience

Education

Possession of an associate’s degree in a biological science.

Experience

Four years of experience equivalent to a Fisheries Technician or Wildlife Technician, including two years equivalent to a Fisheries Technician E10 or Wildlife Technician E10, or one year equivalent to a Fisheries Technician 11 or Wildlife Technician 11. Natural Resources Technician Supervisor 12.

Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
