Aerotek Saw Operator in Venice, Florida
Description:
Setting up and operating saws: Saw operators set up saws, adjust them for each job, and operate them to cut wood or metal to specified dimensions. They may use circular saws, band saws, multiple-blade sawing machines, scroll saws, ripsaws, or crozer machines.
Inspecting and measuring: Saw operators inspect and measure workpieces to mark for cuts and to verify the accuracy of cuts. They may use rulers, squares, or caliper rules.
Adjusting blades: Saw operators adjust saw blades using wrenches and rulers, or by turning handwheels or pressing pedals, levers, or panel buttons. They may also sharpen blades, or replace defective or worn blades or bands.
Maintaining saws: Saw operators maintain saws by checking and replenishing fluid for lubrication systems, and checking and removing chips from collection systems.
Ensuring quality: Saw operators ensure that material meets quality specifications.
Keeping work areas safe: Saw operators ensure that the work area is safe, clean, and organized.
Packing and transporting: Saw operators may help pack and transport finished pieces.
