ROLE PURPOSE

Ensures that the configuration of all Glory machinery is compliant and in line with industry practices and applicable operating standards and that reconfigured products fully meet Glory systems quality and product compliance standards at all times. Assures consistent quality of production by; process validation, process auditing associated documentation; customer training, supportive QMS documentation and records. The role operates from an outsourced warehouse environment.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts process audits on production level to identify non-conformance and makes recommendations for improvement where necessary (Internal NCR process ownership).

  • Maintains and updates as necessary site QMS to support suppliers process and associated activities.

  • Support the maintenance of ISO 9001 – 2005 accreditation and associated third party audits.

  • Reviews requirements, specifications and technical design documents and ensures Work Instructions are correct, to the latest revision, maintained and controlled adequately within site QMS.

  • Tooling management by means of auditing supplier controls and compliance of calibration, documentation as well as maintenance of all tools, gauges and measuring equipment.

  • Co-ordinates and monitors quality control activities to ensure that products comply with defined specifications and standards.

  • FMEA Performing / Risk Management (technical focus)

  • FAI check/test/approval

  • WI applicability review

  • Maintains responsibility of ClearQuest system for ticket management

  • Uses KPI’s, trend analysis and Pareto techniques to ensure supplier control.

  • Provides technical support and assistance as needed to suppliers and takes responsibility for proactively improving the quality and reliability of Glory products through supplier development activities (to include monitoring and reporting as necessary).

  • Meets quality assurance financial objectives and schedules of expenditure; analyses variances and initiates appropriate corrective actions.

  • Facilitates and supports resolution of all non-conforming products; owns the process and ensures product containment, quarantine and disposal processes are adhered to.

  • Identifies opportunities for quality improvements and communicates to senior management / supplier and assists in their development.

  • Ensures customer complaints are addressed in a controlled and expedient manner, to the satisfaction of the customer, with all remedial actions implemented and plans in place to prevent further occurrences (Root cause analysis to issue resolution and closure).

  • Works closely with Group Quality Team to drive quality initiatives and improvements and assist in the maintenance and development of QMS and procedures to meet third party and customer requirements.

  • Drives warranty process support for the group, including issue resolution as required.

  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Upholds department and company rules and policies, including company procedures and H&S practices

  • Updates job knowledge by studying trends and developments in quality management, participates in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.

  • Documents, maintains and supports all training; ensuring accurate training records are maintained and a training matrix is in place to ensure use of skilled personnel only on all Glory product reconfigurations.

  • Some travel to customer and supplier sites may be required (locally or internationally)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree qualified or educated to degree level (local qualification equivalent)

  • Demonstrated and proven track record of achievements from a QA and compliance background

  • Knowledge of quality management tools, systems and practices, preferably with a Lean / 6 Sigmaqualification

  • Project management experience and ideally possessing PRINCE2 certification

  • Familiar with concept of out-sourcing

  • Strong management skills and experience

  • Experience of working within a structured and disciplined environment and familiar with ISO 9001,AS9100, TS16949

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • BS CS/CE/EE or equivalent qualification

  • 5+ years’ experience as a QA Engineer

  • Demonstrated history of a passion for quality

  • Fluent in English / Dutch (written and oral) with other languages beneficial (German, French, Japanese, Spanish)

  • Is a strategic thinker; deals with complex issues and is proactive in providing solutions

  • Comfortable with fast-paced, schedule driven development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience); comfortable presenting

  • Excellent numeric skills and the ability to present complex data in an understandable way

  • Methodical and organised approach to work; pays attention to detail, is thorough

  • Dedicated, highly self-motivated and with keen attention to detail

  • Flexible and able to work to tight deadlines often with minimal supervision

  • Experience in managing software/application testing, such as professional applications, consumer and media apps

  • Proven track record in development of automation tools

  • In-depth software engineering and development lifecycle knowledge
