WATTS Electronic Hardware Engineer -II in Vernon, British Columbia

As the Electronic Hardware Engineer II, you are an established engineer or technologist who will work on a range of hardware development projects and will identify issues and make hardware development and process related changes. Under the guidance of Hardware Engineering Manager, you will lead hardware development projects and mentor junior and intermediate developers.

You Will:

  • Design electronic circuits, schematics, and PCBs by conducting tests, analyzing results, and recommending solutions. This includes conceptualizing and simulating circuits, interpreting datasheets, and specifying components using schematic capture and PCB layout software.

  • Test and troubleshoot electronic hardware, including building and testing prototypes, taking measurements with electronic instruments, and evaluating circuit performance.

  • Provide expertise in projects, collaborate with other departments, and work with regulatory agencies to certify products according to safety standards.

  • Create and maintain PCB and design documentation, including hardware development, requirements, and specifications.

  • Contribute to the design of mechanical, packaging, and labelling components.

  • Use our ERP system and applicable graphic/PCB software.

You Have:

  • An Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma.

  • 7+ years of relevant electronics design experience, with knowledge of applicable technologies.

  • Experience in design and development of electronics.

  • Technical skills relevant to the principal responsibilities and duties described.

  • Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB layout software.

  • Proficient soldering skills and awareness of IPC standards.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
