WATTS Project Manager in Vernon, British Columbia

As the Project Manager, you will lead New Product Development (NPD) projects under the direction of the Senior Product Manager. You will be responsible for implementing project management tools, dashboards, and metrics, as per time and budget and will specifically support the NPD project portfolio within the electronics business unit of Watts Water Technologies, Inc. This role is open to both hybrid or remote candidates.

You Will:

  • Lead new product development efforts utilizing the Stage Gate process from concept to post-launch for NPD or VA/VE initiatives.

  • Ensure important partners/team members follow a structured and repeatable process from ideation, business case/commercial specification, engineering/production validation, to market launch and post-launch close out.

  • Coordinate with product managers, engineers, manufacturing, operation, sales and marketing and other team members across Watts teams to ensure understanding of project requirements and deliverables.

  • Facilitate creation of project plan with required budget, resources, detailed project schedule, defining critical milestones, aligned with Stage Gate deliverables.

  • Ensure project scope, schedule, and required resources are clearly defined and aligned across all teams.

  • Identify project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate impact or scope throughout project lifecycle.

  • Schedule and lead all required project gate review meetings with teams.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • 5+ years of experience with a minimum of 3 years of progressive Program/Project Management experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment – Electrical, Mechanical and Software engineering.

  • Proficient with Project Management Office tools – MS Project, WBS, Gantt Chart, Stage Gate and Agile methodology

  • PMP Certificate desirable

  • Understanding or hand-on experience in NPD development

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
