About the role:
The Customer Quality Engineer is responsible for handling warranties, root cause identification, product support and elimination of defect in the process. You will act as a first aid for any customer’s 0-miles and field issue and will be a liaison among the OEM’s, BU IA North America, B Division in ZFVH and IAQ in Passau.

First point of contact within BU IA for OEM’s in North America with 0-miles and field issues
Liaison among OEM’s in North America, BU IA North America, B Division in ZFVH and IAQ in Passau.
Recording of all technical, warranty-related information from the field and manage the subsequent inspection of defective units and defective parts as well as issue the corresponding failure reports
Problem solving of technical issues
Arranging and monitoring warranty repairs
Supporting claim settlement and claim decision (according to given standards)
Monthly report of failure statistics
Set-up & strengthen the relationship with OEMs’ quality / service department.
Supporting 0-km claims
Initiating Early Warning Reports (EWR), organizing and managing the assignment of inspectors to investigate/ eliminate failures, if required, making proposals and reviewing the effects of the assignment under technical / financial aspects
Management of field campaigns, inspection of defective parts, if required by involving experts
Your profile:
2-4 years of experience as a service engineer (preferably) or as an application/ product engineer within a powertrain and/or OEM in the Off-Highway or any adjacent industries (given the specificity of the position, ZF candidates are preferred)
Familiar with process related projects
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
