BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Metrology Lab Technician at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities:
Perform internal calibrations and manage external calibrations of production control equipment, master, gauges and poka yokes (collection, calibration, update life sheets, labels and delivery to production)
Ensure the maintenance, calibration and conservation of quality tools and equipment’s and manage the repair
Maintaining records of files and compiling data and reports as required
Operate, install, maintain, and trouble-shoot laboratory equipment
Set up, configure, and calibrate new equipment. Write instructions and standard operating procedures for equipment operation
Manage calibration plans for all production and test equipment’s
Manage R&R´s plan activities
Verification of samples, prototypes and control materials
Support supplier quality with PPAP samples measurement
Conduct annual product audits and verification of critical characteristics/regulation
Preparation of documentation and reports associated with measurement and testing
Perform ESD audits according the standard Checklist DIN 61340 - 5-1/2
Manage the ESD control requirements according the specification and planning
Support component reception control and production measurement service
Performs measurements of PPAP samples (Product Part Approval Process)
Maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and core values
Compliance with and maintenance of the Laboratory Manual and quality procedures within its area of responsibility
Comply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standards
Comply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, Practice and Schedule
Respect workplace safety and cleanliness rules
Respect and comply with environmental policy rules
Perform other tasks not included in the activity for which he was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of service
Education & Experience
Secondary education in a related technical area
Preferably higher education courses related to technical design and metrology
Preferably experience in creating programs and measuring in three-dimensional machines
Knowledge of Interpretation of plans and technical specifications
Knowledge of metrology
Knowledge of technical design (preferred)
Knowledge of laboratory techniques according to ISO 17025 (preferred)
Knowledge of calibration, including uncertainty calculation (preferred)
Knowledge of MSA - Measurement System Analysis and R&R - Repeatability and Reproducibility. (preferential)
