Position Summary: The Department of History at Villanova University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the history of Latin America since 1800. We seek an innovative scholar-teacher of any geographical specialization whose research and teaching engage transnational frameworks and themes. Candidates should be able to teach thematic Core History courses of their own creation and electives at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek candidates who will contribute to the University's Latin American Studies Program within the Department of Global Interdisciplinary Studies and build partnerships across campus. We seek candidates who share our commitment to engaging and including diverse audiences. Our new colleague should demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues and to mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds. The position begins August 2025 with a teaching load of 2-2 for the 2025-26 Academic Year and 3-2 thereafter. PhD is required at the time the position commences.
