Need 5 full time, temporary, seasonal Farmworkers to work in Villard, MN. From: 12/01/2024 - 04/01/2025 Work: 45 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hrs./day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sat. 5 hrs. As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 01/31/2025 JOB DUTIES: Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions, feed and water cattle. Herd monitoring, doctoring, and cleaning pens/stalls and equipment using using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Herd processing (weaning, tagging, banding, vaccinations, pregnancy checking, assistance with early calving, etc.). Calves are weaned beginning of December and are fed and processed in separate confined areas through the winter until they are sold to a feedlot and moved off-site beginning of April. Job duties will include: snow removal in livestock yards. inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, buildings, pens, yards, Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain, herd livestock to scales, pickup trucks, or other enclosures, maintain growth, feeding, production, and cost records, mark livestock to identify ownership and grade, using tags, perform duties related to livestock reproduction, such as breeding animals within appropriate time-frames, performing artificial inseminations, and helping with animal births, provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance; employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
