Italy Payroll Manager
Purpose: We are looking for a person who is passionate for payroll and has a strong understanding of how payroll processes work and connect. A perfect candidate should be a quick-learner and have solid grounds of Italian payroll. We work in a multinational, mostly remote environment, so it’s essential that you are keen to meet new people and connect with them daily with ease. Speaking English communicatively is non-negotiable.
The roles main responsibilities will include planning, directing, supervising and monitoring all payroll activities for our Italian payrolls in cooperation with the external payroll providers. Another part of this job will be to support our internal payroll team in any Tier3 activities and help them build up their payroll knowledge.
Perfect candidate is expected to lead payroll projects and initiatives and to develop and implement key changes in cooperation with EMEA Payroll Manager, Project Team and HR. In our work we aim to develop and deliver an innovative service that provides excellence to customers. Supporting solving problems and being able to independently resolve first level escalations and follow-up on the status of outstanding issues will be another essential part of this job.
Job (responsibilities):
Reviewing & supervising monthly processes:
Processing new hires and leavers
Supporting T&A system updates including managing holiday balances
Inputting all non-recurrent data: bonuses, shift premiums, overtime, etc.
Inputting recurrent data: car benefit, transportation allowance, garnishments, etc.
Processing absences: medical leave, maternity, paternity, etc.
Performing monthly payroll controls
Supporting GL reconciliation process
Reviewing & supervising post-payroll tasks including:
Preparing payments: advances, net pay, Social Security etc.
Providing various excel files / payroll reports required by stakeholders.
Establish and improve quality relationship with stakeholders (HR, Finance, employees):
Dealing with enquiries from employees, managers and other internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
Maintaining a day-to-day cooperation with the payroll providers.
Liaising with external stakeholders (Government agencies, 3rd party vendors etc.)
Perform non-cyclical tasks including:
Supporting Year-End & other annual tasks
Dealing with ad-hoc data requests, including audit request
Completing payroll project work as required
Seeking for continuous improvement opportunities
Creating & reviewing processing instructions
Person (Requirements):
Solid Italian payroll knowledge, supported by relevant experience
Knowledge of ADP Celergo will be an advantage (it’s not essential)
Ability to learn & adopt to changes quickly
Ability to stay motivated
Ability to manage multiple tasks whilst working towards strict deadlines
Strong Excel (vlookup & PIVOT are essential)
Team player
Very good English
