Robert Half Tax Accountant in Vinton, Iowa

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Public Staff Tax Accountant in Vinton, Iowa. This role involves supervising staff, meeting with clients, and preparing and reviewing individual and entity income tax returns. The role is within a tax-focused environment, where you will be expected to utilize your strong technical and people skills to ensure high-quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide guidance to other staff members

• Meet with clients to discuss their financial and tax situations

• Prepare individual and entity income tax returns accurately

• Review income tax returns prepared by other staff members for accuracy and completeness

• Use specialized software including CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Gosystem, Management System, and Microsoft Excel to complete accounting tasks

• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations

• Provide excellent customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues promptly

• Utilize your expertise in Accounting Functions, Auditing, and Cash Activity to improve processes and outcomes

• Monitor and manage annual income tax provision, income tax accounting, and income tax compliance

• Prepare income tax reports and documentation. Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in Public Staff Tax Accounting

• Proficient in using CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax

• Familiarity with Gosystem and Management System is required

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must

• Must demonstrate a solid understanding of Accounting Functions and Auditing

• Experience with Cash Activity and Compliance is necessary

• Strong Customer Service skills are essential

• Ability to handle Annual Income Tax Provision is expected

• Proficiency in Income Tax Accounting and Income Tax Compliance

• Experience preparing Income Tax is vital

• No criminal record, as per the company's employment policy

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

• Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations.
