Summary:

Job Family Summary

Defines and delivers industry leading consumer insights for new product development across the Enterprise. Serving as a strategic partner for the Center of Excellence (COE), informing consumer centered design and ensuring a seamless customer experience across channels and touchpoints. Accountable for and delivers key business driving metrics.

  • Requires specialized depth and breadth of expertise in consumer, innovation and new product development insights

  • Leads others to solve complex problems

Primary Accountabilities

  • Leads consumer research to reimagine the future of insurance products (specifically the auto line of business), inform the development of strategic roadmaps and align strategies across operating companies

  • Owns and drives the long-term vision and strategy for insights driving the end-to-end customer experience based on external trends, business strategy/objectives, and target customer needs

  • Frames, structures, and scopes complex business and customer challenges

  • Uses customer/consumer data and insights, competitor activity, and market trends to guide strategic planning and enable competitive advantage

  • Evaluates and develops perspective on transformational customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction opportunities across the organization

  • Defines, monitors, and champions customer experience metrics, key drivers of, and return on experience and insights investments

  • Collaborates with all levels of leadership and management in order to align priorities and develop a collaborative roadmap for complex and large-scale strategic initiatives across all functional areas of the organization

  • Partners with product lines, marketing, corporate strategy, and enterprise partners to drive strategic alignment

  • Drives consumer influence across the enterprise, proactively reaching across the aisles

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service

  • Demonstrated proficiency designing survey questionnaires and developing discussion guides that meet learning objectives while minimizing respondent bias

  • Proven ability to design learning plans that prescribe research and analytical approaches required to answer business questions

  • Demonstrated experience interpreting data analyzed with a variety of statistical tests and modeling approaches

  • Demonstrated ability outlining data analysis needs to suppliers and analytics partners

  • Ability to identify data needed to answer business questions as well as synthesize findings across multiple data sources to form both evidence-based conclusions and generate additional hypotheses

  • Demonstrated ability to create research reports that tie evidence-based conclusions directly back to learning objectives through effective data visualizations and coherent storytelling techniques

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with, challenge, and influence business partners

  • Able to define and propose solutions to complex business problems

  • Demonstrated proficient skill in quantitative and qualitative research design.

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Knowledge & Skills

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Statistics, Sociology or related field

  • Minimum 3 years background in consumer research
