The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Electronics is seeking an experienced and cleared Senior Field Engineer in support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for DRS tactical networking systems and products, services, and support on site. The Field Service Engineer candidate will be responsible for installation, maintenance, testing, training, and operation of electrical, mechanical, software, and hardware at the system integration lab in an OCONUS work environment. Must have the ability to support DRS equipment in operating environments such as depots, training sites, and customer field operations with training, operation, and repair.

Job Responsibilities

• Support Leonardo DRS and equipment in operating environments at depots, training sites, and customer field operations with training, operation, and repair

• Support all Field Service activities around the globe when required

• Setup and support demonstrations of Leonardo DRS hardware, software, and vehicle platforms

• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required

• Participate in preparation of proposals as required

• Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel from a field environment perspective

• Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of individual ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness

• May lead and direct the work of others as assigned

• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in the related Technical Field with 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education/experience

• Advanced communications, networking, and electrical theory knowledge

• Ability to read and understand schematics, identifying basic and advanced circuits

• Utilize legacy and advance test equipment to perform troubleshooting

• Demonstrate basic personal/electrical safety

• Understand the steps required to prevent damage to electronics due to electrostatic discharge

• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

• Familiar with the Microsoft suite of computer software: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

• Familiar with the requirements for handling US ITAR and related export-controlled data

• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with a strong degree of interpersonal skills

• Ability to work within an inclusive team environment

• Ability to obtain a US passport

• Current active security clearance

• Willingness to relocate to the UAE, and travel (both US and Foreign)

Advanced Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of and experience in the application of communication equipment.

• Advanced understanding of and experience in electrical and data interface standards and protocols.

• Advanced understanding of and experience in operating systems/server systems/network protocols.

• Knowledge of military systems and platforms
