IHG Chef de Rang Room Service in Switzerland

Ensures telephone orders, day and night.

During the night shift, ensures the preparation of certain dishes of the Room Service menu.

Performs the in-room services.

Ensures that orders are delivered timely.

Presents the bill to the guest and returns the billing to the cashier.

Clears the tables.

Ensures the link between the kitchen/pastry and the Room Service.

Manages VIP and amenities.

Prepares hot drinks.

Prepares the set up for the next day.

May ensure the supply of the Mini Bar, upon request of his hierarchy.

Makes sure there are no glasses and empty bottles in the rooms and corridors and makes sure the trolleys and trays are cleared.

Is responsible for floors’ cleanliness.

Is responsible for the passes and keys provided for the service.

Supervises the work of commis.

Listens to guests attentively in order to take their remarks and wishes into account and communicate them to his hierarchy.

Knows and explains how in-room equipment works (air-conditioning, TV, etc.).

Respects the procedure to enter guest rooms: in case the guest does not answer, wait before entering.

Only enters the room at the guest's request.

Avoids using his pass for guests.

Is responsible for the respect of his department’s equipment and furniture.

Builds and maintains effective relationships with the other departments.

Conveys the right values and the good behaviors in his service as well as towards his colleagues and his hierarchy.

Informs the Management Team of any incident or problem that occurs during work hours, particularly those he is not able to solve or whose importance justifies it, whether it concerns work-related issues or employee-related problems.

Applies procedures and policies within the hotel and all new procedures according to the management orders.

Applies the internal procedures in terms of health, hygiene and safety.

Applies and enforces environmental good practices in his department, particularly as part of the Green Globe certification (waste sorting, black & white printing, paperless meeting, etc.).

May exceptionally perform other duties at the request of his hierarchy.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Higher degree in Hospitality Management. Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position in a hotel establishment of the same category (4- or 5-star) and capacity (+200 rooms).

Fluent French and English. Mastering a third foreign language of one of our target markets (Germany, China, India, Italy, Middle East, Netherlands, Russia) is highly desirable.

Good computer skills and knowledge of Simphony.

Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills.

Sense of discretion and confidentiality.

Rigor, efficiency.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Capacity to work in a team.
