YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?
At WSP our Building Technologies team are providing Smart, ICT and AV systems design. We're looking for a Senior Building Technologies Consultant to join the UK Building Technologies team.
Gathering requirements from stakeholders, understanding client problems and opportunities, and what the desired outcomes should be.
Developing design & engineering requirements of smart building installations ranging from small to very large buildings, varying in complexity.
Collaborating across WSP with specialists in areas like Security, Lighting, Fire Safety to develop holistic and comprehensive Smart Buildings solutions.
Engagement with wider design teams across multi-disciplinary projects to advocate for and achieve desired ICT & smart building outcomes that are outside of our direct design responsibility.
Working with clients to develop and engineer industry leading ICT, AV & Smart building designs, responding to design for performance imperative.
Taking responsibility for production of detailed performance specifications for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
YOUR TEAM
We work on a variety of projects, helping clients to navigate and embrace emerging technologies. We help clients answer questions such as, “How can we use technology to make a better building?” and “How can I create great experiences for people who use this building everyday?”. The team support clients strategising, designing and implementing innovative solutions to help make cities, buildings and businesses be better.
Our UK Building Services Team is delivering projects ranging from High Rise Towers such as 22 Bishopsgate and 40 Leadenhall, to hyper scale Data Centres, to Stadia such as Fulham Football Club to transformative Healthcare projects such as the Leeds Hospital of the Future programme.
As leaders in Building Technology consultancy, our aim is to set the standard for providing specialist ICT and Smart Consulting to clients across the built environment.
Strategic building engineering experience ideally gained in a consultancy background.
Awareness of smart building technology trends and market including key smart building platform vendors and master system integrator contractors
Good writing skills including report writing and specification writing
Ability to create and interpret technical documents including reports, diagrams, drawings and specifications.
CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited, honours degree or specific experience that will lead to Chartership
Relevant Industry accredited certification such as Cisco, WiredScore, etc
Familiarity with Smart buildings, ICT infrastructure, AV and or other building technology systems
Experience with ICT / Comms Network Design / ELV System design considered an asset
Awareness of smart building technology trends including standardisation of Device and Point Naming such as the BDNS initiative run by the Open Data Institute.
Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)
