Job Summary

You will be responsible for carrying out a broad scope of complex engineering tasks including integrating existing technologies into projects and assignments. Under your own intuition you will remain focused and takes ownership of delivering work packages to a high quality and on time, .

Specific Responsibilities

As a key member of the NPD team, you will be expected to:

• Meaningfully contribute in group discussions and problem solving sessions

• Own work packages and projects, across NPDI and Continuous Improvement ensuring Kohler’s global NPDI processes are adhered to

• Be responsible for introducing new products to our manufacturing systems as part of the NPDI process, and maintaining them through the products life

• Frequent use of lean tools to effectively identify and lead improvement projects throughout the manufacturing process including Value Engineering and cost downs

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

• Provide technical engineering support for manufacturing cells – including assembly & testing - to meet agreed Quality, Cost and Delivery metrics

• Use formal technical processes such as Process Mapping, DFMEA, FEA PFMEA & Control Plan sessions and subsequent testing scenarios

• Create & maintain process/engineering documentation, to include Assembly Methods, Work Instructions, Production Test requirements, Initial Production Assessments, PFMEA’s and Control Plans

Experience:

• 2 Years+ within a Manufacturing, NPI or Value Engineering function, and knowledge/background in Product design would be advantageous but not essential

• Typically, have gained experience through either apprenticeship or higher education, i.e.HNC, degree, masters

• Knowledge of Vacuum/Thermoforming, Machining and non-ferrous casting processes would be advantageous

• Knowledge and/or experience in SCADA and other applicable manufacturing systems is advantageous

• High level of health and safety understanding and capability

• Capability with Microsoft Office & ERP systems (preferably SAP)
