Ford Motor Company VEV Maintenance Leader in Mexico

Test operations. VEV Facilities Maintenance Engineer must be:

  • Coordinate Maintenance activities of equipment and facilities of Product Development Test operations.

  • Usage efficiently maintenance Purchased Services resources.

  • Generate & manage weekly Maintenance Preventive and Predictive Schedule on MAXIMO Platform.

  • Minimize Corrective Maintenance occurrence.

  • Assign daily labors to maintenance Purchased Services crew.

  • Oversees Purchased Services Technicians jobs and offer recommendations and advice.

  • Maintain updated inventory and stock of spare parts and consumables.

  • Manage work requests from labs through ELMS platform.

  • Follow up records of electric parameters of substation and readings of demineralized water plant and other equipment.

  • Understand and consistently apply standard testing operating systems.

  • Validate and bridge operational needs as required to ensure test operations runs safely and efficiently.

  • Cascade communication and provide team recognition.

  • Establish and build Team Member capabilities.

  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.

  • Handle basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.

  • Assign appropriate trades and engineering resources to maintain testing equipment for continuous operation.

  • Identify spare parts and preventive maintenance job plans for new equipment, and review effectiveness for existing job plans. Improve existing maintenance job plans based on failures, feedback from skilled trades and engineering team.

  • Promote and ensure constant improvement in the organization toward the common goal of improving product quality, test operations competitiveness and total cost structure.

  • Ensure department follows government/industry safety and quality standards.

  • Develop and implement actions to ensure Lean maintenance operations metrics.

  • Establish the goal of maximizing equipment efficiency to improve productivity.

  • Review/approve PM activities by ensuring spare parts availability.

  • Review department safety measurables and coordinate improvement activities.

  • Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends

  • Launch and follow up purchasing process for spare parts, equipment, tools and engineering services for maintenance purposes.

  • Manage some Projects for Facilities & Maintenance Team.

  • Planning and execute annual services to Labs testing equipment through OEM and others.

  • Tracking to support services (e. g. fleet fuels) for PD garage.

  • Active participation and tracking in audits from Safety and Controller offices.

  • Report savings to company through carry out insourced installations and modifications.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

3-5 years automotive experience

Five years of recent experience in Maintenance Area.

Manage of personnel.

Extensive knowledge on electricity, AC motors and control, Drives.

Reading and interpretation of electric schematics.

Basic Electronics knowledge. Sensors, transistors, thermocouples, Solid State Relays (SSR´s), Diacs, Triacs, etc.

Pneumatics and Hydraulics systems. Reading and interpretation schematics.

Reading and comprehension of equipment manuals.

English language. Intermediate level.

Microsoft Office.

Safety Standards.

Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Prior experience assigning work to hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following safety, quality, and throughput processes.

Strong organizational and administrative skills

Demonstrated multi-tasking, problem-solving, and conflict leadership skills.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

Familiarity with constraint management principles

Safety and Quality experience preferred.

Fundamental understanding of PLC logic and controls

Familiarity with FIS and Maximo
