Job Description
You will be part of Altera Programmable Software and Solutions (PSaS) DevOps Team (also known as SPES). In a nutshell, we are looking to engage with a people manager who is committed to creating technical clarity for a highly complex legacy implementation, generating positive energy and creativity, and delivering success. Plus, someone who understands that becoming a successful software engineering manager is a one-hundred percent learned role that requires effort, empathy, and continuous learning, day after day.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software development teams; highly hands-on (60:40 ratio between technical involvement and people management) and ready to undertake code optimization and/or code review exercises
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand solutions requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Design and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines
Identify and address technical debt and other software development issues.
Review code, provide feedback, and ensure that coding standards and best practices are followed.
Monitor and analyze system performance and reliability, identifying and addressing issues proactively.
Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development
Demonstrates fundamental values such as accountability, integrity, a winning mindset, and is highly motivated to learn and adapt in fast-changing environments
In Q4 2023, Intel announced PSG will be reported as a separate business unit beginning on January 1, 2024, with ongoing support from Intel. This position is associated to that standalone business strategy and is expected to fully transition to a standalone company at some time in the future.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's/Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
Exceptional analytical skill, problem solving and communication skills, promote innovation and teamwork. Self-motivated and excel in a team environment
Attention to detail for spotting errors - which can cause major complications - in code, documentation, or anything else they review
Exceptional organizational skills for keeping track of budgets, timelines, and human resources
Resilience for working well under pressure, which is crucial when solving problems and adapting to new developments at a moment's notice
Close to 8-10 years of software development experience to the role, the majority (2-3 years) of which comes from developing and managing extensible API-based applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid foundation in MACH architecture and principles, comfortable to undertake monolithic application rearchitecture to MACH
Demonstrate ability to create and deploy applications on AWS, Microsoft Azure or its equivalent
Keeping lines of communication open and maintaining an open-door policy to be accessible to their employees
Empowering engineers to identify improvements
Maintaining technical expertise by actively participating in engineering work when not performing their managerial duties
