Proofpoint Backend Software Engineer Placement Year Intern - Undergrad in Singapore

The Role:

Proofpoint’s Intelligent Classification Platform team in Singapore is looking for Backend Software Engineer Intern to be part of a multi-cultural and dynamic team environment. The team focuses on developing data protection software based on artificial intelligence to make sure all the data within an organization is safe

As a Backend Software Engineer Intern, you will be involved in adding new features to the stack. You will participate in all agile software development processes, e.g: feature kick off, daily standup, regular retrospective, etc. You will work closely with experienced engineers and product team members in delivering high quality results

Qualifications:

  • Able to commit to an internship assignment for a minimum of 4-months

  • Good team player with strong problem-solving skills

  • Good communication skills

  • NodeJS or Python with previous experience in school or personal projects

  • Knowledge of Express.js, Flask or any other MVC framework and its best practices

  • Knowledge in using databases (PostgreSQL, Redis)

  • Knowledge on APIs(REST)

  • Knowledge of messages queues, microservices and Docker is a plus

Candidate Profile:

You have the ability and interest in working full time (a maximum of 40 hours/week) in our Singapore office. You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and are in good standing.
