SUMMARY:

The Department of Psychology and Special Education is seeking an Assistant Director & Instructor for the Community Psychology Clinic. Responsibilities will include assisting the Clinic Director in all operating services: scheduling clients, answering phone and clinic email messages, coordinating clients with student clinicians, scheduling clients, processing of payments, maintenance of clinic supplies, assigning individual client numbers and maintaining HIPAA requirements, overseeing student-clinicians client related paperwork and ensuring it is updated and complete. In addition, the assistant clinic director will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in the area of clinical psychology (e.g. abnormal psychology, personality psychology, etc.). This position will begin Spring 2025.

Individuals must have a Master degree in Clinical Psychology (or closely related field).

The position is a full-time, 9-month position. The position will primarily serve the Master of Science and Undergraduate Psychology programs in the Department of Psychology and Special Education.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting Clinic Director and clinical faculty supervisors in all clinic operating services

  • Coordination of administrative activities

  • Supply management

  • Resource for graduate students in MS Clinical Psychology program for administration, scoring, interpretation of psychological tests and report writing

  • Undergraduate teaching

  • Client satisfaction survey administration

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Master in Clinical Psychology (or closely related field).

  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals. Good written and oral communication skills. Dedication to high standards of ethical practice in psychology.

  • Ability to: Multi-task, work well as part of a team, and give keen attention to accuracy and details.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • PhD in clinical psychology (or closely related field)

  • Commitment to training master-level clinical psychology students in evidence-based assessment and psychotherapy.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary setting.

  • Licensed Psychological (LP) in the state of Texas or license eligible.
