Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President Cardiac Operations, the Assistant Vice President of Cardiac Operations provides leadership, direction, and oversight for all support services planning, management, and operations for various system wide departments, such as all hospital Cath lab/EP programs, testing departments, at all hospital and hospital-based practice sites.

Position Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of the operational department budgets including the analysis of expenses and monthly reports, and the creation of an annual budget. Create and communicate budget reports. Monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds.

Develops and implements operational objectives, goals, and specific strategies required to support and achieve the strategic outcomes (capital equipment/replacement/maintenance) of the department/organization.

Lead and manage process improvement projects that deliver a measurable impact on quality, safety, efficiency, and positive patient experience.

Partner closely with clinical and administrative leadership to identify improvement priorities and goals, and partner with them to deliver improvements to clinical and operational processes.

Serves patients by modeling and driving the organization toward patient experience excellence through a patient centered, patient first culture across the continuum of care; holds departmental staff accountable for adopting and demonstrating those standards.

Ensures that the standards, codes and requirements set forth by the various accreditation boards and regulatory agencies are met or exceeded.

Ensure consistent and accurate interpretation and application of human resource policies and procedures. Interpret and administer policies pertaining to the recruitment and retention of employees.

Position Qualifications Required:

Required Experience:

Work requires a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in responsible cardiac hospital operations including at least three years at the administrative leadership level.

Strong financial/analytical skills, verbal/written communication skills, problem identification and resolution skills, decision-making ability, and the ability to develop/mentor management team.

Strong operational skills: ability to recognize workflow problems and redesign processes and/or workflow; create buy-in from all customers on change; and the ability to initiate and manage change.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in clinical or health sciences field.

Work requires a Master’s degree in a related field, preferably Master Business Administration or Master Health Administration.
