Responsibilities As a Budget Analyst within the office of Natural Hazards, some of your specific duties will include: Conducting financial management, budget, and administrative operations as part of the Supplemental Oversight Team (SOT) for the Bureau. Provides recommendations to senior level managers related to Supplemental funding. Researching and analyzing budgetary and financial data to track rates of spending and consistency with operating plans, policies, and schedules. Applying knowledge of Appropriation Law, other laws related to Federal finances, Comptroller General Decisions, and other Federal policies, circulars, and processes to fiscal management and budget execution and oversight. Preparing specialized financial data reports and statements including reports required by Treasury & OMB under tight deadlines with multiple high priority issues. Presenting budgets or other complex financial information effectively to a variety of audiences including high level officials within and outside the organization. Qualifications For GS-13: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equal to the next lower grade level. Examples of this experience may include, but is not limited to: Working with other management officials to develop budget estimates, goals, Working independently to find solutions to problems in budget and fiscal data; Searching for, compiling and analyzing historical statistical and narrative data relating to budgetary planning to determine the impact of higher level decisions and possible organizational impact; Supervising preparation of internal documentation to insure accountability and distribution of funds to appropriate project accounts; Preparing cost-benefit analysis with recommendations regarding budget and financial planning.
