SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Dean of the College of Business, the Communications Coordinator will strategize, plan, execute and assess all College of Business Communication as it relates to public relations, marketing, social media, newsletters, and events.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote the College of Business brand, programs, and initiatives. This includes conducting market research, analyzing data, and identifying target audiences.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Monitoring and analyzing marketing metrics, such as website traffic, conversion rates, and campaign performance. Creating reports and presentations to communicate marketing outcomes and recommendations to university leadership.

  • Stakeholder Relations: Collaborating and communicating with internal stakeholders, such as faculty, staff, and administrators, to understand their needs and align marketing efforts with the College of Business goals. Building relationships with external partners, such as media outlets, advertising agencies, and alumni associations.

  • Teaching/Training: Collaborate with departments across campus to provide social media and marketing training. Teach undergraduate Marketing, Business Analytics and/or business classes as needed.

  • Brand Management: Ensuring consistent branding across all marketing materials and channels. Developing and maintaining brand guidelines and standards to uphold the university's identity.

  • Advertising and Promotion: Creating and managing advertising campaigns across various media channels, such as print, online, social media, and radio. Film and conduct photography, create, edit, and deliver digital content, collaborating with the University’s Marketing and Communications Department as needed.

  • Digital Marketing: Overseeing digital marketing initiatives, including website management, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), email marketing, social media marketing, and online advertising.

  • Content Development: Creating compelling and engaging content for various marketing channels, including websites, blogs, social media, email campaigns, and print materials. This involves writing, editing, and coordinating content creation with other teams or departments.

  • Event Marketing: Planning and executing marketing strategies for university events, such as open houses, campus tours, conferences, and recruitment fairs.

  • International Student Engagement: Develop plans and communication channels, platforms, and initiatives aimed at attracting and retaining international students.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Business Administration with concentration in marketing, or related field.

  • Minimum Experience/Knowledge Required: 3 years (36 months) of experience in public relations, communications, and marketing, including 36 months of experience using social media and event promotion and management to national and international audiences; and/or including 36 months of experience using business analytics to make informed public relations and marketing/communications decisions.

  • Travel Requirement: From 25% up to 50% regular travel between Commerce, TX campus and Dallas, TX site.
