Salary:

$5,084.33 - $6,410.12 per month commensurate with experience.

Job Description Summary:

The Compliance Officer II under general direction from the Associate Director, System Export Control Office, monitors, develops, executes, and facilitates a compliance program with federal, state, and Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) regulatory and governing standards, including but not limited to laws, regulations, statutes, codes, policies, procedures, rules, and directives, as well as compliance own internal and external policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:- Develops, establishes, and maintains an effective and broad-based compliance program based upon ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with all applicable laws, policies, rules, and procedures.- Assists with export control compliance matters, including review of invention disclosures and assisting with export control classifications of equipment, technical data, and related technology.- Monitors procedures across multiple and diverse research functions.- Addresses potentially serious risk management and compliance issues and communicates with appropriate representatives of leadership.- Assists with the coordination of periodic compliance risk assessments and monitors progress toward improvements as needed.- Designs and delivers customer service driven training to educate diverse audiences.- Develops and assesses programs. Interprets departmental policies, rules, and regulations and ensures they are followed.- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Five years of related experience.

Licensing/Professional Certification:- Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
