Description
The District Operations and Culinary Manager (DM) leads the operational effort of Tatte by inspiring, supporting, and helping grow cafes within their district. A DM is responsible for recruiting, training, growing, and motivating bcafé managers to deliver a warm, authentic and inspiring environment for both team members and guests. As a DM you will provide the cafe level management teams with the tools, training and follow-up necessary to achieve maximum operational and financial performance. DMs are problem solvers – able to diagnose and solve for the human and operational challenges that come with delivering on the smallest details to uphold and grow the Tatte brand. Successful DMs at Tatte are community ambassadors, skilled people developers, entrepreneurial, great at multitasking and priority management, have high personal standards, and are warm and genuine.
Scope of Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
Ensures the cafés are optimally staffed with talented managers at all levels and actively recruits, trains, coaches, motivates, develops and mentors a team of managers as café owners.
Demonstrates keen problem-solving skills - able to diagnose and fix all opportunities that arise at the field level – and prioritizes store performance issues to ensure that the most pressing issues are addressed first.
Models authentic, warm guest experience and is responsible for instilling great service in team.
Demonstrates exceptional people performance management skills with the ability to identify talent and develop managers and hourly team members by giving timely, honest and ongoing coaching and feedback through one on ones and performance appraisals.
Drives expert operational practices and standards and leverages existing systems and internal and external best practices as well as develops new processes to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Monitors and manages the business through analysis of metrics and trends across district cafes in order to develop effective means to close gaps between actual performance and company guardrails.
Ensures food safety and quality at all cafes within district, including all food safe processes and standards, and drives immediate resolution to any deviation from standard.
Interface with cross-functional department partners to ensure seamless communication and coordination of deployments and change management activities.
Creates an environment fostering trust, integrity, respect, initiative, accountability, open communication and teamwork.
Provides expertise on company policies and procedures and immediately addresses any lapses in compliance with Tatte policies or local, state and federal laws.
Working Conditions / Essential Functions
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs which will include days, nights, weekends and holidays as well as emergency responsiveness as required
Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, plus ability to stand, sit, squat or walk for extended periods of time, walk up and down stairs, and read
Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Position Requirements:
Ability to work well under pressure in a feedback-oriented, fast paced, ever changing work environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
High integrity and professionalism
High School education or equivalent
Preferred Skills:
Minimum 2-4 years’ experience working as a District Manager managing 4 or more high-volume, full service and/or polished fast casual restaurant
Hospitality Education: B.S. in Hospitality Management and/or A.S. Hotel and Restaurant Management
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
Previous experience working with UltiPro, Toast - POS System, CrunchTime/TeamworX
ServSafe, Allergen and ChokeSaver Certifications
