Our Employee Relations (ER) team collaborates closely with leadership, HR Business Partners, Legal and employees to advise on complex matters, including performance improvement and investigations. We endeavor to achieve a balance of employee advocacy and company stewardship. In realizing every employee's potential, we enable the company's success.

Be an employee relations champion

You will be a key member of our Employee Relations COE team, focusing on Employee Relations investigations that involve senior members of the Americas teams (Canada, LatAm, and US).

As an Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Senior Director with development of the Global Employee Relations COE framework (governance, process, and success measurements), etc.

  • Investigating complex alleged violations of Akamai's policies and procedures (including discrimination, harassment, and retaliation) that involve Americas employees who hold the title of Senior Director and above.

  • Presenting findings to Decision Makers by making and supporting implementation of recommendations for resolution and thoroughly tracking the matters in Akamai's case

  • Analyzing ER trends and making suggestions for broad-based training and/or other interventions to prevent future occurrences.

  • Being able to proactively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with managers and employees.

  • Managing the end-to-end process for large group actions (i.e., reductions in force) for Akamai.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelors degree and 12 years of HR experience that includes 10 years of relevant investigation experience (i.e., employee relations, compliance, EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity), etc.

  • Possess highly developed communication, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills to guide, influence and persuade others

  • Demonstrate the skills to deliver findings and recommendations on sensitive cases

  • Have attention to detail when it comes to documentation, process execution, and follow up

  • Have a quantitative approach to evaluating progress and impact, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Have experience supporting senior leaders across a global organization andpartnering with HR colleagues, Legal, Audit, Talent, and Development, to implement solutions and achieve business results.

  • Staying abreast of best practices and developments within the Employee Relations and Employment Law fields and consider their applications to investigating and resolving Employee Relations matters.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $119,100 - $247,300/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
