Making Cents International Evaluation Team Leader, Violence Prevention in Targeted Vulnerable Communities & Schools in Jamaica Activity in Washington, District Of Columbia

Making Cents International is recruiting for an Evaluation Team Leader for a final performance evaluation of the USAID Violence Prevention in Targeted Vulnerable Communities & Schools in Jamaica Activity (VPTVCS). The VPTVCS Activity helps Jamaican communities and families prevent youth violence by leveraging targeted interventions such as school safety initiatives, conflict resolution measures, parenting interventions, and workforce development programs to create social structures that provide practical solutions to the challenges Jamaican society faces today with at-risk youth. 

This position is contingent upon winning a contract award. 

Role and Tasks

The Evaluation Team Leader is responsible for the overall management of the Activity’s final evaluation and provides technical leadership support for the evaluation team. The Evaluation Team Leader will:  

  • Draft the final evaluation design and methodology 

  • Lead the development of evaluation instruments 

  • Guide data collection and analysis, ensuring the integration of findings from different team members 

  • Lead the preparation and drafting of the final report to ensure that it is complete and meets USAID evaluation requirements 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in evaluation, economics, or related discipline 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience evaluating development or social science projects

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) 

  • Experience leading USAID evaluation and research teams 

  • Familiarity with USAID rules, policies, procedures, regulations, and evaluation report writing styles 

  • Availability to conduct occasional travel to Jamaica as needed

  • Technical expertise in youth development 

  • Ability to work with various counterparts, implementing partners, and host country government stakeholders 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork 

  • Superior written and oral communication skills
