Description: Responsibilities: Perform detailed inspection of Engines structural, electrical and mechanical assemblies and systems using CAD models and Blueprints Verify Assemblies for conformance against engineering requirements Document nonconformance's in accordance with internal procedures and over communicate to resolve quality issues Experience with Precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc Experience with final photo documentation of hardware Experience with hardware containment related to non-confomances and notices of escapement from suppliers Perform close out, first article, in-process & final inspections Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency certificate 5+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, military or manufacturing environment Proficiency working with nonconformance systems Competence in Blueprint reading skills and 3D model Experience with performing electronic and mechanical testing and inspections using portable measuring devices Proficient in inspecting tight tolerance, high value flight vehicles and systems. Familiar with the use of personal computers. Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Ease with climbing ladders, stooping, bending, crawling, and mobility while working within tight spaces Desired: Airframe & Power-plant certificate (A&P) or ASQ CQA Experience working with aerospace propulsion assembly installation and testing processes and procedures Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001) Strong understanding of safety programs and OSHA regulations and requirements Call Notes: Job Details and Requirements Section Can you give us an overview of the project this resource would be working on and what the day-to-day activities would look like : Work will be the same overall, in-process inspections, non-conformance inspections, continuous improvement. Assembly work cell inspector. Aerospace is not the only industry that does this. FOD inspections. Are there other positions or job titles with similar responsibilities and qualifications to the one we are hiring for in other companies : Production inspector, work cell work process inspector. How large of a team are they working on : Team of 20, 35 once everyone is hired. Candidate Detail Section What are the programs, technologies, and certifications that are useful for them to already know? Are there any must-have skills? Basic assembly skills, A&P desirable but not required, general production experience. Low-rate environment development to larger rate. What non-technical Skills are necessary (such as communication, problem solving, team player, i.e.) All the above. Good communication is important. Ability to document non-conformance, cross shift hand offs. Work is cross functional. Communication can be through other groups. Office suite skills. Ideal Candidate background and how many years required? Ideal background is space systems background. Could utilize automotive or medical device. Aircraft experience would be preferred, a lot of similarities there. Stick it at least 5+. More doesn’t hurt as long as they are happy. Confirm required education? High school
