(cont.) testing, validation, implementation, and maintenance of Software applications running on an IBM Mainframe Z/OS. Monitors Systems and researches issues related to Job Control Language errors, DB2 Database issues, and COBOL software programs Develops test plans/cases, prepares test data sets, and conducts testing of application enhancements and break/fix conditions. Evaluates and analyzes the customer's business system requirements for feasibility, cost-effectiveness, integrity, completeness, compliance, compatibility, and testability. Conducts and/or participates in the research and investigation of technological developments that have the potential to improve the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation... (cont.) and support of new or existing applications software. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), your qualifications must include: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Develops deliverables (Project Schedules, Functional/Technical Specifications, Test Plans, Test Cases, User Guides, and Project Status Reports). Conducts, reviews, tracks and reports status of functional Testing in Pre-Production system Test environments and assists the user community with User Acceptance Testing. Participates in release management, software transition, and deployment activities. Monitors and maintains system performance, identifies and analyzes operational problems, develops solutions, and takes corrective action as appropriate. Creates hierarchical structures, logical process models; module interface plans, functional foundation modules and/or logical data base views. Scopes decomposes and refines requirements using various techniques such as process and data modeling. Develops functional designs, operational concepts; detailed inputs/outputs, system interrelationships, and processing logic. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
