Montrose Memorial Hospital Maintenance Technician II - Painter - Full Time in United States
Position Overview:
The painter will be responsible for the interior and exterior upkeep of the hospital and the off-site facilities. This position also includes regular maintenance responsibilities, such as, minor electrical/plumbing, mechanical repairs, moving of equipment, ceiling tile replacement and other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions :
a) Essential functions of this position require painting, installation and maintenance of vinyl wall papering and wall protection, and installation of floor tile and bathroom tile.
b) The painter will be responsible for maintaining, purchasing, and keeping inventory of all paint and supplies.
c) The painter installs ceiling tiles, venetian blinds, drapes, divider curtains, refinishes furniture, doors, cabinets and paints mechanical equipment.
d) The painter climbs and carries 4ft and 20 ft ladders and maintains, operates and repairs painting equipment as necessary.
e) Performs maintenance services and repairs of plant equipment as required.
f) Performs manual duties, such as: moves supplies, furniture, replaces light bulbs, removes trash, etc.
g) Works day, evening or night shift and periodically required to be on standby based on the needs of the hospital.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

In an 8-hour workday, this position must be able to sit for 1 hour constantly, stand for 6 hours constantly, and walk for 6 hours constantly. The position requires frequent squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting and may experience frequent exposure to dust, fumes or gases, occasional crawling, ladder climbing, stair climbing, walking on rough and may occasionally experience exposure to changes of temperature or humidity, be near moving machinery and working from heights. Employees in this position must be able to carry up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. This position requires that the employee push and/or pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Right or left hand needed for speed work, precision, and piecework. Both feet are needed.

· Visual Hearing and Dexterity Demands:
Requires concentrated visual skills, eye/hand coordination for doing painter duties and other functions as required. Excellent hearing skills required to interpret verbal and telephone communication.
Qualifications:
a) Education: High School Diploma.
b) Training: Five years' experience. Hospital/health care experience preferred.
c) Job Knowledge: Must have prior knowledge of painting, wall papering, floor and bathroom tile installation, purchasing and stocking of supplies, use of painting equipment, sprayer, compressor, hand tools to maintain the interior upkeep. Must know how to maintain and repair equipment as needed. Must be alert of hazards that may be present in the work environment. Must have the ability to work on own with minimal supervision and has ability to inspect the facility. Knowledge of hospital safety and preconstruction risk assessment, including life safety. Must observe safety precautions at all times.
