Roles and Responsibilities:
Network Administrator – Net Ops Specialist
Minimum one (1) year of experience in providing the full range of network management and administration support in a multi-platform, automated office environment.
Provides daily O&M and manages network performance and maintains network security.
Maintains the system by troubleshooting a variety of hardware and software problems; evaluates, and implements network policies and procedures to ensure there is conformance with information systems and organizational objectives.
Has extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware & software in a multi-protocol environment & network management tools and software.
Manages network performance and maintains network security.
Ensures security procedures are implemented and enforced.
Installs network hardware and software; troubleshoots network problems; implements network policies, procedures and standards; and ensures systems are in conformance with organizational objectives.
Other responsibilities could include training local users on network operations.
Responsible for the comprehensive management of the installation’s local area network (LAN). This includes the installation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the network. Utilize NetOps capabilities to execute Network Administration tasks, ensuring optimal network performance and robust security measures.
Responsibilities will include:
Network Performance and Security Management: Oversee the network performance and security, implementing and enforcing security procedures, and maintaining adherence to organizational objectives.
Hardware and Software Management: Installing and configuring network hardware and software, troubleshooting network issues, and implementing network policies, procedures, and standards.
User Support and Training: Providing training to local users on network operations as needed.
Specialized Support: Supporting additional requirements, including SCIP, Fort Johnson Combat Training Center (CTC) rotations, training exercises, and compliance with DCWF Codes as outlined in the task order’s security requirements in the PWS and DD Form 254.
Must have experience with NETCOM’s Enterprise central management tools for networks, including but not limited to Cisco Prime, Infovista, NetCool, wireless protocols (802.11b/g/n/ac), and wireless authentication protocols such as WPA2 Enterprise, WPA3, EAP, PEAP, EAP-TLS, and EAP-TTLS. Proficiency with Orion software (e.g., NPM, NetFlow, and virtualization) and a thorough understanding of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, STP, CDP, HSRP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, FTP, TFTP, SNMP, IAS, VoIP, and 802.1x) is essential.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field desired.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
