We are currently seeking an Op erations Manager – Dispersions Plant is our site in Calvert City, KY.

    What you will do:

    The Operations Manager – Dispersions Plant is Responsible for directing daily Dispersions plant operations to meet customer demands through ensuring production and shipping requirements are met. This includes the setting and prioritization of work, annual budgeting, resource planning, bargaining unit interface, equipment operation, production process optimization, ISO compliance, and EHS compliance. It is the responsibility of each employee to know, understand, and diligently practice our EH&S and Security policies and practices.

    Plant leader for Polymer Safety Processes, lead monthly safety meetings, address safety issues and concerns, investigate incidents; Leading 80 employees (54 hourly Chemical Operators.)

    Employee supervision/union relations. Set performance expectations with direct reports and hold employees accountable for their actions.

    Provide overall guidance to supervisors and operators to ensure environmental, safety, and production targets are met.

    Coordinate maintenance and shutdowns as required meeting OSHA PSM requirements. Prioritize projects in the dispersions plant to meet operational goals.

    Meet EHS requirements, keeping procedures and inspections up to date, ensuring all employees training is up to date.

    Control costs such as overtime and industrial cleaning by reviewing invoices work requirements and OT scheduling.

    Implement bio protection program and storage tank inspection program.

    Write CSE and hotwork permits as needed.

    What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree, industry/technical related preferred

  • Minimum 5 Years supervisory experience

  • Minimum 10 years chemical manufacturing experience

  • Demonstrated operations leadership experience in Chemical Manufacturing environment.

  • Prior leadership experience with union represented workforce

  • Experienced with OSHA Process Safety Management

  • Strong MS Office sklills; Excel, Powerpoint, etc.

  • Experienced with batch operations

  • Experienced with polymers manufacturing

  • Knowledge with SAP

  • Knowledge of basic dispersions batch process and chemistry

  • Process control system knowledge including basic knowledge of D3 / Siemens other plant control systems; Ethylene, VAM, and other raw material storage /delivery systems; Wastewater pretreatment operations

  • Understanding of collective bargaining agreement

  • Basic maintenance background / comprehension

  • Computer knowledge – MS Office applications, SAP, etc

  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills; Teamwork; Strong problem solving skills

  • Ability to provide clear / concise daily work instructions and follow up for completion.
