SET THE COURSE

The Photo Studio Manager will lead, produce, organize, and focus workflows for the Tommy Bahama in-house photo studio. This position will be responsible for implementing processes throughout the photo studio that guarantee the delivery of projects on-time, on-brand and within budget.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

  • Oversee and manage the development of more efficient systems, reducing internal costs and improving and implementing new programs.

  • Manage photoshoot schedules to ensure appropriate resources are available.

  • Manage Photo Studio budgets and expenses. Create, forecast, and reconcile budgets.

  • Plan and execute monthly photo and video shoot cadence, including maintaining shoot calendars, process documents, samples coordination, shot lists, talent booking and travel, crew and studio confirmations, client reviews, postproduction, and final image delivery.

  • Lead change efforts and provide recommendations for creating efficiencies, reducing reshoots, and cutting expenses while increasing quality standards.

  • Partner with Creative Director Image & Creative Services and Sr. Stylist to ensure Style Guidelines are up to date and met by production team.

  • Manage sample check-in to ensure briefs and product data are aligned to deliver business requirements.

  • Provide clear and concise status updates to internal and external partners and respond effectively to guidance or direction.

  • Oversee in-house studio teams as they perform data tracking, asset management, daily production, and project schedules.

  • Gather, analyze, and report on utilization data for efficiency & cost-benefit assessments across all studio operations.

  • Reconcile and process invoices to services at completion of photo shoots.

  • Organize, catalog, and maintain imagery and records, report data to use for process improvement.

  • Work with creative teams to hit KPI’s on output and editorial performance.

  • Analyze how the work is executed and solve for efficient workflows by removing bottlenecks and gaps.

  • Provide inspired leadership for the photo studio team. Develop and mentor staff; manage performance. Hire, onboard and train new members of the team.

  • Lead negotiations of contracts and rates.

  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the studio.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Generally, 6+ years of operations experience building teams, ideally in a studio with a digital photography focus.

  • Demonstrated understanding of quality creative projects. Extensive professional experience in studio production.

  • Demonstrated experience managing creative and photo teams, ideally with a digital media focus.

  • Demonstrated vendor relationship management skills in building strong, mutually beneficial partnerships.

  • Experience using or familiar with photo studio software applications.

  • Understanding of photo crew roles and responsibilities and is able to assist them in order to meet deadlines and project goals.

  • Strong familiarity with Adobe Creative Suites.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail, organization and time management.

  • Aptitude for technical applications supporting photo studios.

  • Proven ability to manage high volumes of work. Demonstrated prioritization, planning and task delegation under tight deadlines.
