OSF Healthcare Radiology / CT Technologist in United States
The CT/Radiology Technologist provides patient centered service to all persons encountered as an imaging technologist in both diagnostic x-ray and computed tomography. Proficiently, and professionally assist radiologists and other Health Center staff with imaging requests. Maintain HIPAA compliance. Answers phones and distributes messages in a timely manner. Confidently and competently transports patients to and from medical imaging when requested. Under the direction of the radiologist, perform radiographic and CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Utilize critical thinking skills and independent judgment to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Abiding by ALARA and regulatory agencies in providing safe and appropriate care for the imaging patient.
Associates degree in Radiologic Technology.
Licensed with IEMA.
Current Active ARRT(R) (CT) certification.
Maintains Basic Life support certification.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress and gather and exchange routine patient information with nurses, physicians and other medical center personnel.
Analytical skills necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of diagnostic imaging techniques and anatomy in order to obtain high quality images based on the specifics of each individual case.
1 year of X-Ray, CT, or MRI experience.
